Rose Bowl Half Marathon- Race Recap

Our second half marathon race was scheduled a week before our last long distance training run. Not the smartest decision we've ever made, especially since the course was majority trail and we were not prepared.

There were points in the course where all we had to do was look at each other and we knew that this was a mistake and we should probably stop. But we are both highly stubborn people and we knew that we wanted to finish what we had started.

We got to one point where we had to run up this pretty steep hill which was only wide enough for one person to go up safely. By the time we reached the bottom on our way to go up some of the faster runners were on their way down. I truly thought that someone was going to end up falling down the hill they were going so fast.

At the top of a very steep hill.

We finished shortly after our three hour ideal time mark, but we were pretty proud of our time considering the course.

It was worth it though, and I am beyond happy that we did it and that we were able to lay on the 50 yard line at the Rose Bowl. That's what sold me about signing up for this race and what kept me going to the finish line.

Right after crossing the finish line.

On the 50 yard line.

Well, laying on the football field, completing another half marathon, some bling bling and free beer!

Carbing it up.
